Drinking and Driving
What is Drinking and Driving?
Drinking and driving is the operation of a motor vehicle while under legal intoxication, or a blood alcohol concentration of .08. Drinking, as most know, impairs the brain’s judgment, reaction time, and navigation. When someone drives a vehicle with a blood alcohol concentration, or BAC, of .08 they cannot properly drive due to the affects of alcohol. Most people can barely handle a pen after 2-5 drinks, proving that driving while drinking is a major challenge. BAC can be affected by various things, so having two or more drinks does not automatically mean you are intoxicated. Gender, body weight, and food consumptions are factors that determine how high someone’s BAC after a certain number of drinks. But do not be fooled; drinking and driving is a deadly risk no matter what your gender is, body weight is, or amount of food you have consumed. It’s a decision that you have to make they could result in death.
